Silver, Gray and Green
An extension of the interior of their home, this project combines silver, gray, and green hues in the garden. Several trees were strategically placed to create privacy for the outdoor space. The stairs jutted out into the space and created an empty, unusable space. Boards were added so that under the stairs could become storage and a wood sitting wall was also added for additional seating in the dining area. The mobile fire pit gives the space flexibility for various uses within the circle shaped paver patio. The existing concrete patio under the deck was stained to coordinate with the pavers. Plantings provide softness to the space and include ‘Blue Spruce’ sedum, little bluestem grass, ‘Elijah Blue’ fescue grass, St. John’s Wort, ‘Provence’ lavender, russian sage, lambs ear, fothergilla, laurel, and groundcover junipers to cascade over the existing brick wall.
