Inside Out Design logo

Slope/Hillside Garden

This backyard features function and beauty.  The turquoise and orange hues from the interior inspired the exterior palette of whites, soft oranges, and yellows.  Low growing, Abelia prostrata is used as a groundcover, with ‘Little Lime’ hydrangeas, dwarf daisies, amber carpet roses, native prairie dropseed, ‘Karl Foerster’ Reed Grass, and ‘Creme Brulee’ coreopsis.  Year round interest and structure is provided with evergreen laurels and the berries and bark of the multi-stem Hawthorne, as well as inset limestone boulders.  All plants are drought tolerant, long blooming and easy care.  The planting arrangement also helps a drainage issue which was present on the property. Two Creeks, Frankfort Fall 2011
